In January 2021, Equal Education Partners delivered the MISTI Global Teaching Labs in Wales programme on behalf of the Welsh Government.
The MISTI Global Teaching Labs in Wales programme is a uniquely impactful and transformative programme, bringing expert STEM instructors from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to classrooms and staff rooms across Wales.
Through this partnership initiative, the Welsh Government, MIT and Equal Education Partners aim to enhance engagement with STEM subjects through exploring real-world issues and to empower learners to strive to achieve their full potential in and beyond the classroom.
The 18 participating instructors from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Yale-National University of Singapore (Yale-NUS) supported schools’ and colleges’ in delivering both live and pre-recorded lessons and workshops, and offering co-curricular, extra-curricular and super-curricular support to all participating schools and colleges. Additionally, recorded content has be collated and used to extend the longevity of the program and impact of learning from some of the world’s most talented STEM university students. The participating instructors worked
remotely, across 8 time zones, with 24 schools and colleges which also served as hubs for engagement with other schools, colleges, local and regional organisations in the Science & Technology sector, Seren Network hubs, and other organisations.
